Jiangsu College of Nursing Established Friendly Relationship with Woosuk University

On June 9, Jiangsu College of Nursing and Woosuk University held a signing ceremony to conclude a friendship online. The following people attended the event, including Wu Binjiang, Vice Secretary of the College CPC Committee and President of Jiangsu College of Nursing, Nam Cheonhyun, President of Woosuk University, Zhu Yu, Director of Huaian Foreign Affairs Office and Vice President of Municipal Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Huang Tianliang, Deputy Director of Huaian Foreign Affairs Office, Xia Liping, Member of the College CPC Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu College of Nursing, Xia Qianzheng, Member of the College CPC Committee and Minister of Organization Department, Kim Dongju, Vice President of Woosuk University, Dean of International Exchange School and Professor of Rehabilitation, heads of relevant departments of the college and the university, and people in charge of relevant departments of Huaian Municipal Foreign Affairs Office.

Wu Binjiang said in his speech that under the lead and witness of the Foreign Affairs Office of Huaian Municipal People's Government, we established friendly relationship with Woosuk University, which is a day of special significance for the international development of our college. In recent years, we have been insisting on being enlightened and open to schooling, and has established cooperation with universities, educational and healthcare institutions in the UK, Germany, Finland, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries. Despite the current global pandemic, our international exchange and cooperation has not been interrupted. We proposed a new strategy of "local internationalization", which means having cooperative programs with foreign universities to optimize online education through the Internet. Wu Binjiang expressed his hope to work together with Woosuk University to provide a platform and opportunities for Chinese and South Korean teachers and students to exchange and learn from each other, promote the joint training of students majoring in rehabilitation, and conduct extensive academic exchanges between teachers from both sides. Our goals are to further expand the friendship and cooperation between the two schools and promote cross-cultural exchanges, so that our education can contribute to the people-to-people exchanges and to the building of a community of health for all.

Zhu Yu said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, and Jiangsu College of Nursing and Woosuk University have concluded friendly relations with each other through the matchmaking by Huaian City and Wanzhou County, which is a happy event for both schools and embodies the "sisterhood" between Huaian and Wanzhou. We hope that the two schools will take this cooperation contract as an opportunity to learn from each other's advanced educational concepts and management experience, explore effective modes and long-term mechanisms of international exchanges, and promote mutually with win-win cooperation in teaching and learning, human resources training and other aspects, thus achieving further upgrading of cooperation. The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will further strengthen all-round and deep-level exchanges and cooperation in education with international friendly cities.

Nam Cheonhyun expressed his good wishes for the conclusion of our friendship through the internet and introduced Woosuk University's Sino-foreign cooperation programs with several Chinese institutions. He looks forward to the mutual cooperation between Jiangsu College of Nursing and Woosuk University in education and research, and hopes both sides to move forward side by side for mutual development.

Afterwards, the two sides signed an inter-school cooperation agreement. In the future, both sides will deepen their mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanges in education and make contributions to promoting the development of medical vocational education in China and South Korea.

The meeting was followed by an international symposium on cooperation between China and South Korea in health care industry and education.
